Brooklyn-born and Ohio-based, DJ Larry Karoll caught the radio bug in 1975, launching a make-believe station—WLSK 104.9 FM—recorded on reel-to-reel and shared on 8-tracks with friends back home. In the 1990s, he turned pro as a mobile DJ, spinning across Tuscarawas County for 25 years. When WDNP 102.3 FM launched in Dover, Larry joined as a volunteer and created The History of Rock, now the station’s longest-running show, airing Saturdays from 4–5 PM. He’s currently building a recording studio at WDNP, because the music never stops.
